This Friday Your City May Never Be The Same….

Why do I say that? Because people like me will be taking over metered parking spaces in cities around the country and turning them into green-spaces for a day. No, this isn’t a terrorist attack, it’s PARK(ing) Day, an annual, worldwide event that invites citizens everywhere to transform metered parking spots into temporary parks for the public good. Don’t worry, we won’t hog much, just a few spaces here and there. So instead of exhaust fumes on stretches of city streets, you just may find a place to sit, relax, play a musical instrument, participate in an art experience, or learn about cool local programs.

Here in Chattanooga, you can expect to find a piano park on Main Street and an arts park on Frazier Avenue. Stop by The Tivoli Theater on Broad to hear some music from the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra along with our very own art bike park. We will be grilling on BunnSmoke, the BBQ bike and if you wish, take swing on our swing bike.

Wondering how you might get to see it all?Stop by Outdoor Chattanooga’s bike park at 8th and Market for a bike tour. This event begins at 8am and goes until 5pm. Don’t miss it. It won’t be back for another year!
